This position will be based within the Western Downs region 1 hour northwest of Toowoomba and 20 minutes east of Dalby. About: Positioned within the rich, agricultural central region of the Western Downs lies our client's ever expanding beef cattle feed lotting operation currently striving swiftly toward a capacity of 25,000 head of Wagyu + additional composite herd. With extensive expertise within the Australian beef market, this privately owned feedlot boasts unprecedented, localised expertise within all facets of beef production tailored to supply the very best with all that is the Australian beef product. Being a well-established organisation that is recognised for its stamp on the industry and close to Dalby, a position has become available for a Feedlot Manager to join the team within a permanent, full-time capacity. The Role: Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be a genuine 'people person' who will ultimately be responsible for overseeing the entirety of the feedlot operations and providing leadership to a team of employees at a grass roots level. Being supported by a team of successful individuals, the Feedlot Manager's position will suit a candidate who has previously held a strong position of leadership within the Australian beef cattle industry, enjoys a hands-on directional position, can offer a diversified level of skill and who is looking for a role that offers them overall longevity, an attractive remuneration and ongoing support within their chosen career. Duties & Expectations will incorporate, but not be limited to: To adopt the company's clear visions and to ensure feedlot operations continue to function at optimal efficiency at all times.To enhance cattle productivity and proactively identify opportunities to improve operations to further improve revenue generation.To always ensure cattle health and wellbeing by taking a hands-on approach within the position.To maintain existing and create new positive staff relationships and incorporate best management practices across the dynamic team environment.To ensure the management of cattle and commodity movements are always maintained in an efficient manner.To uphold good order within the feedlot with respect to tidiness and organisation.To be familiar with feedlot technical programs such as Elynx, StockaID, and FY3000.To demonstrate strong cattle handling, horsemanship, and animal husbandry skills in general in order to lead an efficient team.
