The role We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-orientated individual to join our Hideaway Bay team and support the daily operations of our marine feed trials.
The Feed Trials Assistant will help ensure the upkeep of trial pens and assist with broader fish health related tasks as required.
Key responsibilities include: Feed Management: Oversee daily feed distribution, ensuring correct diets are always available and that fish are fed according to the trial protocol and project plan.
Ensure feed waste is removed efficiently.
Performance Data Reporting: Accurately track and report key performance metrics, including feed rates, fish growth and mortalities to identify any issues.
Fish Health Monitoring: Observe fish behaviour, water quality, and environmental factors, promptly identifying and reporting any irregularities that may impact trial results.
Growth and Feed Investigation: Investigate variances in expected growth patterns or feed rates.
Located at Hideaway Bay, this is a fulltime position operating on a 4 on, 3 off / 3 on, 4 off roster.
About you Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships within a team.
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail with well-developed analytical and reporting skills.
Confidence in using the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong ability to adapt, deal with uncertainty, and remain calm in a changing environment.
A commitment to working safely in a dynamic environment, identifying risks, and taking appropriate action.
Bonus points for experience on the water and relevant qualifications and tickets.
