The National Centre for Farmer Health is a research, service delivery and education centre that provides national leadership to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of farm men and women, farm workers, their families and communities across Australia.
The Centre is a partnership between Western District Health Service and Deakin University and is based in Hamilton, Victoria.
About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated registered nurse to join the National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH), based in beautiful Hamilton, Victoria.
The centre is unique in delivering specialised multidisciplinary, integrated agricultural health services, research, training and education direct to farmers, rural professionals, tertiary and secondary students across Australia.
Discover more about our region  -  Visit Hamilton The Farmer Health Clinician will be passionate about improving farmer health wellbeing and safety and have personal experience working with Agricultural communities.
The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of a number of NCFH programs, including farmer focused health checks and the unique and bespoke AgriSafe clinics for farmers.
The candidate may also be called on to represent the NCFH through speaking engagements to provide health, wellbeing and safety education to agricultural workers, other health professionals and secondary and tertiary students.
They will have a growth mindset and deep commitment to enhancing and expanding farmer health programs through strong industry and health service engagement.
The current vacancy is for a part-time role until 30 June 2025 to cover a maternity leave vacancy.
There are opportunities for continued employment in a part time or casual capacity after the fixed term ends.
You will bring The position requires a registered nurse with Division 1 qualification and a minimum 3 years' post graduate experience and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
The successful candidate will have a passion for rural and farmer health and a thorough understanding of agricultural exposures and occupational risks affecting farmer health, wellbeing and safety and have completed the postgraduate unit HMF701 Agricultural Health & Medicine offered through Deakin University.
The candidate must possess a valid driver's license as travel will be required to deliver clinical services to remote and rural locations.
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient and effectively direct their work.
The role demands individuals who are organised, and detail-oriented, and proficient maintaining patient files and records, coordinating referrals and managing appointments and schedules.
The candidate will have commitment to delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships with the Centre's staff, community, students, farmers and collaborative partners.

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check.
Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
