About the Role: We are recruiting an experienced Family Violence Practitioner to work with a leading not-for-profit organisation. The role will provide specialist family violence services to vulnerable families in the Eastern Metropolitan Region. You will be responsible for intake, completing assessments, and responding to immediate needs for Aboriginal clients seeking support around Family Violence.
Key Duties: Deliver quality intake, assessment, and referrals for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are affected by family violence and their children.Complete short-term case management, including crisis response to Aboriginal clients seeking support.Complete intake processes, MARAM assessments, and formulate care plans for supports needed.Engage respectfully and appropriately with Aboriginal clients.Complete all reporting requirements, such as case notes, assessments, closure reports, incident reports, and all other reports as required.Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and proactively engage in learnings to continuously improve practice.Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.Minimum 12 months experience working in a Family Violence Program.Understanding of family violence theoretical frameworks and interventions.Comprehensive MARAM training and experience utilising this with victim survivors and people who use violence.Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities.You will also need to be willing to provide 2x professional references and undergo a Working with Children Check and Police Check.
