This full-time role based in Geelong West, VIC is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our growing family law practice.
What you'll be doing
Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients on a range of family law matters, including divorce, property settlements, child custody and support arrangements
Negotiate settlements and agreements between parties to achieve favourable outcomes for clients
Prepare and file court documents, attend hearings and represent clients in family law proceedings
Conduct legal research, draft correspondence, and manage a diverse caseload efficiently and effectively
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing empathetic and supportive guidance throughout the legal process
What we're looking for
Admitted to practice as a solicitor in Australia with 1-2+ years' post-admission experience in family law
Excellent understanding of family law legislation, case law and court procedures
Outstanding negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, counsel and the judiciary
Proven ability to manage a complex caseload and work to strict deadlines
Empathetic, client-focused approach with a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes for families
