THE ROLE Our Facilities team is expanding, and we have an exciting new opportunity for a hands-on Facilities Manager to join us in Brisbane. You'll be managing the Facilities team and overseeing a Brisbane-based portfolio, working alongside an enthusiastic team that maintains some of the best purpose-built student accommodation facilities in Australia.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining our assets in top-notch condition, ensuring our residents and team members enjoy the highest standards of living. You'll take ownership of your responsibilities, contribute to an environment of continuous improvement, and lead by example.
Key areas of responsibility include: Ensuring compliance with statutory, health & safety obligations across all properties, and promptly actioning any updates to these requirements.Managing programmed and reactive maintenance works across the Scape Brisbane portfolio, including overseeing contractors and collaborating with the National Facilities Manager on financial planning and budgets.Owning defect, liability, and warranty issues across multiple properties.Administering Facilities Management software, covering works, asset, and contractor management applications.Leading a team of Facilities staff and working closely with the National Facilities Manager and other interstate Facilities Managers.Contributing to the overall strategic approach of Facilities, ensuring that planning is in place to maintain the highest standards of service and that Scape is well-positioned to navigate the challenges of a dynamic economic climate.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We're on the lookout for a highly motivated Facilities Manager with a knack for making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experienced in a similar roleExceptional organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and working under pressure.Strong contractor management skills.A meticulous worker with excellent attention to detail, proactive in identifying and resolving issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.A solid understanding of legal requirements and statutory obligations related to buildings.Good knowledge of health and safety legislation.Experience managing Defects Liability Periods (DLP) and overseeing handover processes for new buildings.PERKS OF WORKING WITH SCAPE At Scape, we're all about fostering good vibes and rewarding hard work.
