The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Security and Facilities Specialist based in Nowra, for our Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Project. This project delivers a modern helicopter training system to the Australian Defence Force which will train generations of Army and Navy aircrew transitioning to future combat helicopters over the next 25 years.
Responsibilities

Provide Facilities Management effort and expertise to ensure that all facilities and associated building services and infrastructure are safe, satisfy customer and wider defence stakeholder requirements concurrent to the identification, planning, coordination and management of all facility activities, repairs, maintenance and building project works including contractor management.
Provision of the HATS Security Officer duties to ensure ongoing personal and physical security compliance with security standards as determined by the Boeing Defence Australia security policies and procedures and the Defence Security Manual as a member of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).
Act as the facility lead for all Boeing, Department of Defence, and third party Suppliers, Contractors and Consultants to plan, manage and deliver required facility works post a formal approval process that will be managed by this role.
Act as point of contact for, and manage as required all out of hours building related emergencies, programmed works and security related incidents.
Coordinate HATS program access and control requirements in accordance with Defence and Boeing policies as required.
Maintain and manage all systems and processes required to complete the role and provide reporting to the HATS Program Manager and other stakeholders both internal and external.
Coordinating and escorting (as required) contractors as it relates to facilities and site services.
Communication to building occupants of relevant facilities activities such as power outs, works planned or general notifications that may impact occupants (including managing distribution lists).
Ensures that our facility operations are fully compliant with all Fire Systems, Health & Safety and building regulation codes and policies including coordinating necessary trainings for First Aid officers, Wardens.

Experience/Qualifications

Direct Facility Management experience preferably within an Australian Defence Force (ADF) and/or a Defence Industry environment.
Detailed knowledge of the Australian Building Construction industry, standards, codes and contractor management.
High levels of verbal and written communication including report writing.
Demonstrated experience in the operation of a DISP accredited facility and maintaining compliance with Australian security policy and Defence Security Policies Framework.
Demonstrated experience in a Security Officer role.
