As our operations grow, we are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dedicated team.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder who can handle diverse fabrication and welding tasks both onsite and in our workshop.
This role requires a flexible, adaptable team player who is also comfortable working independently.
The successful candidate should be prepared to travel as needed, including interstate and to New Zealand, to support various projects.
Whilst this position is advertised as a Fabricator welder, suitable applicants must be willing and competent to assist in all facets of the business including carpentry, concreting and form work, barge and marine operations.
Key Responsibilities: Perform high-quality welding, cutting, and fabrication on a variety of marine construction components and materials.Read and interpret plans, sketches, and technical drawings to complete projects accurately and efficiently.Work on both onsite installations and workshop-based prefabrication, ensuring precision and quality across all tasks.Comply with safety protocols and industry standards on every project.Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding and fabrication tools and equipment.Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet project goals and deadlines.Take control and manage Workshop and yard maintenance, organisation and resources.Required Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience and qualifications in welding and fabrication, ideally within marine or construction environments.Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Self-motivated and capable of working solo or within a team setting.Willingness and ability to travel interstate and to New Zealand as project needs require.Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments and conditions.Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and manoeuvring heavy materials.Highly regarded but not essential: First aidCoxwainsTruck licenceWhat We Offer: Competitive above industry standard salary commensurate with experience and qualificationsOpportunities for skill advancement and professional developmentA supportive, safety-conscious work environmentHow to Apply: Ready to make an impact with TAS Marine Construction?
