The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Fabrication Quality Coordinator will monitor and document the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and products both before, during, and after fabrication. Tasks include undertaking continuous inspection during the manufacturing process, conducting tests, taking and analyzing measurements, and maintaining quality documentation including final acceptance sign off. The Fabrication Quality Coordinator will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating welds in strict accordance with specified inspection procedures, standards, codes, and drawings. Inspecting and assessing the quality of welding work and ensuring welds are safe and ready to function as part of the component. In addition, the Fabrication Quality Coordinator will ensure that measuring, testing, and welding equipment used in the fabrication department is operating accurately.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor/validate welding activities, including development of WPS, welder qualifications, inspections, technical support, and arrangement of NDE requirements.Visual quality inspection prior, during, and after welding.MPI testing as required during the manufacturing process.Control products and materials to ensure quality standards are met.Review technical drawings for quality compliance.Material Inspection, including the validation of the quality of profile cut parts and bevel angles prior to welding.Conduct internal compliance audits.Mentor the fabrication production team.Ensure the correct equipment and materials are being used for a weld.Complete technical reports when required.Validate painting procedures to ensure these are to standard.Ensure accessories are mounted correctly, conduct tests, and validate.Skills and ExperienceEngineering or Trade Background (Fabrication/Welding) essential.International Welding Specialist or Technologist (IWS or IWT) essential.International Welding Inspector (IWI-S or CSWIP 3.1) essential.NDT/MPI Certification at Level 2 (ISO9712, ASNT or equivalent) highly desirable.Diploma in Management or relevant discipline or Cert IV in Leadership and Management highly desirable.ICAM Qualified highly desirable.Knowledge of ISO 5817, ISO 3834 & ISO 9606 and ISO 9001.Mining industry and heavy equipment experience is highly desirable.Why you should join Liebherr's family?
