Location: RAAF Base Amberley Category: Engineering / Technical Position Type: Permanent Job Reference: BOE/1821335A No File Attached Share This: The Opportunity - In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Mission Planning Team forthe FA/18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft, as part of the Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program.
As the Senior Systems Administrator of an embedded team within the Operational flying units of Number 82 Wing, you will be responsible for delivering Mission Planning Capability through the management of the Mission Planning Environment for the Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program with Boeing Defence Australia (BDA).
You will be part of the ICT Operations team that is a key contributor for a program which employs the best talent to develop and deliver world class capabilities and systems to protect Australia and its national interests.
This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Brisbane.
(Please note this role is not suitable for remote work) As a Senior Systems Administrator within BDA, you will Mission planning and debriefing support to F/A-18F & EA-18G aircrew as part of a collaborative mission delivery team.
Collaboration and communication across a multi-disciplined work environment to deliver Mission Planning outcomes for the Super Hornet and Growler capability Act as an engaging facilitator, bringing out the best in team members with varying levels of experience.
Providing and implementing designed solutions to technical problems.
Ability to travel to conduct activities both domestically and internationally on an infrequent basis.
Supporting multiple software systems to build a key BDA software development environment.
Collaborate with systems and software engineers throughout the engineering lifecycle to meet design & support requirements.
About you To be successful in this role you will have: Prior Operational Mission Planning System experience across multiple IT disciplines ideally with 3+ years' experience in similar roles.
Leadership skills to effectively manage a team of Mission Planning Specialists and System Administrators Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, senior management and project team members.
Able to demonstrate experience in managing the exploration of opportunities including developing appropriate risk mitigation.
Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a broad and diverse audience.
Experience dealing with classified defence environments.
High level communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance - The preferred applicant will hold a minimum NEGATIVE VETTING 1 level to be considered and will be required to successfully undergo the security clearance vetting process at the TOP SECRET POSITIVE VETTING level.
