As the result of expanding work on the east coast, SIMPEC has an opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join our growing east coast Ops team, supported by our corporate HSEQ team. About the Project/s Working initially with our infrastructure team in Sydney, we anticipate this role will extend to other SIMPEC projects in NSW with periodic interstate travel to Brisbane and/or Victoria - looking after multiple sites for the east coast team.
The role Collaborate with project and corporate leadership to ensure best practice health, safety and environmental performance is achieved and maintained on designated projects.Liaise and communicate with client representatives as required to nurture a productive and co-operative working relationship.Undertake and participate in audits to ensure compliance with the project health, safety and environmental management plans and against SIMPEC's integrated management system.Governance activities and coaching to champion SIMPEC's Critical Risk Management Guidelines.Coaching SIMPEC workers and leadership to excel in their approach to all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.Champion SIMPEC's SIMSafe Culture Framework.Development and review of Safe Environmental Work Method Statements.Assist in the review of statistics and development of improvement strategies.Assessment and control of operational risks and hazards.Conduct inductions and other HSE related training.Review and implementation of HSE plans to meet SIMPEC and contract requirements.Investigating and determining the root causes of incidents, hazards, and other unsafe conditions on the job site and/or office.About you Minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health and SafetyDegree or post-graduate qualifications in applicable field, desirableDemonstrated experience in a leadership position in the resources and/or construction sectorStrong understanding of HSE legislation and compliance requirementsIncident investigation methodology (e.g. ICAM or Taproot)Injury management experience and/or qualificationsDeveloped interpersonal skills which enable the formation of valuable stakeholder relationshipsAble to autonomously work within a collaborative team, be proactive and able to use initiative.This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your career with a dynamic and growing company, who boast a great and different culture "Be Like No Other".
