Lithos Geological Services Pty Ltd – Rockhampton QLD
Due to rapid growth in market demand and project requirements, we are currently seeking an Exploration Geologist to join our high-performing, friendly, and professional team.
This role will see you spend time on site for drilling and exploration programs on a rotational basis, with the remaining time spent in the corporate office.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will assist in the implementation of exploration and resource evaluation programs including the collection, review, interpretation, and assessment of exploration and resource drilling results, design planning and implementation of exploration mapping, and ensuring a safe system of work at all times.
Key responsibilities and duties: Coordinate earthmoving contractor for siteAssist with preparation and coordination of aboriginal cultural heritage surveysCore and chip loggingGeotech core logging and sample collectionGas testingBorehole corrections on databases and GISAssist with drill program design, preparation, supervision, logging, and interpretationField mapping, geochemical sampling, and interpretationHydrogeological exploration and monitoringAssisting in maintaining and gaining new licences and environmental approvalsWork with geological datasets to assist in target identification, review, and developmentSupervision of rehabilitation activitiesAbout you: The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety.
As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building and communication skills will be critical in this role.
Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Science1 year of experienceAustralian Driver's LicenceBasic geophysical, geochemistry, and structural geology interpretation knowledgeStrong field-based geology skillsetGood presentation and communication skills at all levelsDemonstrated understanding of industry safety and environmental standardsSend resumes with cover letter upon application.
