Exploration Geologist

Lithos Geological Services Pty Ltd – Rockhampton QLD Due to rapid growth in market demand and project requirements, we are currently seeking an Exploration Geologist to join our high-performing, friendly, and professional team.
This role will see you spend time on site for drilling and exploration programs on a rotational basis, with the remaining time spent in the corporate office.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will assist in the implementation of exploration and resource evaluation programs including the collection, review, interpretation, and assessment of exploration and resource drilling results, design planning and implementation of exploration mapping, and ensuring a safe system of work at all times.
Key responsibilities and duties: Coordinate earthmoving contractor for site Assist with preparation and coordination of aboriginal cultural heritage surveys Core and chip logging Geotech core logging and sample collection Gas testing Borehole corrections on databases and GIS Assist with drill program design, preparation, supervision, logging, and interpretation Field mapping, geochemical sampling, and interpretation Hydrogeological exploration and monitoring Assisting in maintaining and gaining new licences and environmental approvals Work with geological datasets to assist in target identification, review, and development Supervision of rehabilitation activities About you: The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety.
As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building and communication skills will be critical in this role.
Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Science 1 year of experience Australian Driver's Licence Basic geophysical, geochemistry, and structural geology interpretation knowledge Strong field-based geology skillset Good presentation and communication skills at all levels Demonstrated understanding of industry safety and environmental standards Send resumes with cover letter upon application.
