The Role We are seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to coordinate and contribute towards the active management of surface and underground base and precious metal driven exploration activities, compliance, and exploration assessment of new projects within the Company's extensive exploration and mining tenement package.
Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will work across our tenements within the Nymagee District in the Cobar Region, and gain exposure to greenfield, historic near mine and newly discovered near mine surface and underground exploration activities exploring for polymetallic mineral deposits across projects.
You will be able to hone your experience as an Exploration Geologist across multiple projects and be hands on with surface and underground drill rig supervision/provision of support to drillers, generation of new geological targets, processing and archiving of exploration samples/data, supervise service contractors, and be vigilant in applying health, safety and environmental principles as a fundamental part of the way you work.
Key Responsibilities Having an exceptional focus on safety, health, heritage and environmental factors and best practise, including those associated with working in a remote location and diverse operating conditions.
Exposure to exploration methodologies and technologies for gold and /or base metal deposit types Applying your knowledge of planning, drilling, logging, QAQC and interpretation of results Working knowledge of 2D and 3D spatial software to assess and communicate generative activities Reporting concisely on exploration production activities, as well and generating interpretations and communicating progress.
Exploration operations in a diverse range of working environments including regional, near mine surface and near mine underground.
About you Behaviour consistent with Aurelia Metals Values – Care, Curiosity, Nimble and One Team Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (Valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes) Current unencumbered Australian C Class Manual Drivers Licence Tertiary qualification in Geoscience as a minimum Experience in a similar role working with gold or base metals, including a detailed understanding of ore forming processes, deposit types and associated mineralogy and structural regimes Experience in mapping, plotting and use of 2D Spatial software (QGIS desirable) Understanding or experience in drillhole planning and use of 3D spatial software (Leapfrog desirable) Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, contractors/drillers, landowners or key stakeholders Strong report writing capabilities with demonstrated experience in data management and validation skills.
Experience in logging core samples and supervising drill rigs (Diamond and/or RC) Familiarity with modern geophysical and geochemical exploration techniques commonly applied in mineral exploration A working knowledge of the NSW Mining Acts in general.
