Because of our growth, Woolpert seeks a Geospatial Analyst to work onsite at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC.
The Analyst will be part of a fast-paced team developing and executing geospatial solutions for the United States Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase program. GIS analysts maintain and manage enterprise GIS data in accordance with DAF and Department of Defense (DoD) standards. The Expeditionary Analyst will coordinate with headquarters-level GeoBase leadership at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) to perform enterprise updates for multiple overseas US military installations using Esri ArcGIS desktop and Portal solutions. The Analyst will support Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) Expeditionary GeoBase mission requirements, coordinating with GeoBase Service Desk managers working in an Agile project management environment.
Requirements:
U.S. citizenship Two (2) to four (4) years of geospatial experience Active Secret (or higher) security clearance Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening Current DoD Common Access Card (CAC) holder Prior US military service, preferably with deployment experience working in geospatial, engineering, or survey career fields such as Air Force AFSC 3E5, Army MOS 12Y, etc. Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities: Two (2) years of experience using ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) or ArcGIS Pro Two (2) years of experience using Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Two (2) years of experience in a role requiring: Excellent written and verbal communication and consulting skills with an emphasis on client and team member engagement Proven success providing excellent customer service Strong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products Attention to detail - proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standards Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills Ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and as a member of a large organization Ability to offer constructive feedback and problem solving, as well as clear direction to support goals Desired Qualifications:
Experience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard or other defined spatial data model Proficiency with Esri ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, or ArcGIS Enterprise Proficiency using ArcGIS Data Reviewer extension Proficiency in processing and using geospatial imagery and LiDAR data Experience with USAF Civil Engineering data and processes Experience supporting data stewards deployed to austere locations Experience with Agile project management methodology using Atlassian or similar platforms Responsibilities:
Mission: Deliver Trusted Geospatial Engineering Data, Maps, and Services
Task: Support, assist, and enable multiple OCONUS DoD installations to:
Create and maintain 9AF/AFCENT expeditionary civil engineering GIS data in an enterprise environment, managing a versioned, multi-user geodatabase Perform data quality assurance and control (QA/QC), ensuring compliance with Air Force and DoD geospatial standards Perform monthly data updates in coordination with personnel deployed downrange at expeditionary locations Maintain Expeditionary GeoBase continuity of operations in coordination with personnel deployed downrange at expeditionary locations Create, update, and produce a variety of installation, range, and vicinity maps, drawings, plans, and other graphic representations using cartographic techniques to represent spatial data Provide geospatial support to contingency operations (disaster response, humanitarian relief) as part of the AFCENT mission Work closely with end users at each expeditionary location to identify and satisfy GIS requirements, technical issues, and training needs Update expeditionary operations plan, continuity folder and Knowledge Base with current AFCENT Expeditionary GeoBase-specific workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and functional processes Coordinate and execute GIS data submissions and requests to authorized stakeholders and mission partners Create and maintain expeditionary and AF enterprise geospatial metadata Integrate geospatial imagery, LiDAR, survey, and field collected data into the GeoBase enterprise Migrate or convert legacy GIS, CAD, non-spatial, and tabular data to GeoBase standards Maintain data for archival storage, record keeping, and inventory of source data and maps The Analyst is also required to:
Perform complex GIS data analysis, extraction (digitization), and geocoding processes Provide end user support and training on GIS data stewardship, ArcGIS applications, SDSFIE data model, enterprise capabilities, and the GeoBase program Analyze current processes and recommend improvements or other best practice solutions Work with GeoBase Portal content managers to create capabilities or improve data and geoprocessing services for enterprise availability to all users Utilize the GeoBase Agile framework to enable task visibility and project transparency for our AFCEC client: Use Agile platform (Jira, Confluence) to record all processes and tasks, and manage all projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
