We are seeking an expression of interest as the Executive Producer for Darwin for a parental leave cover.
You will lead a dynamic newsroom, steering the creation and delivery of high-quality journalism that informs, educates, and engages our viewers.
You will be pivotal in overseeing the entire content creation process and show lineup, ensuring editorial excellence and acting as the final authority before our content goes to air.
Job Description Your day to day responsibilities include but won't be limited to: Lead the creation and delivery of audience-focused content.
Oversee development of content ideas, research, scripting, and editing to ensure compelling storytelling.
Identify and prioritise stories and angles that resonate deeply with viewers, aligning with audience trends and expectations.
Ensure all content meets accuracy standards and is legally sound.
Direct communication with on-air talent and production teams during broadcasts, addressing and resolving any issues in real time.
Take charge of rolling coverage during breaking news events, coordinating efforts in the control room to ensure seamless broadcasts.
Quickly resolve any issues that arise during news bulletins.
Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
Qualifications Key qualifications we're looking for on your resume include: Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
Deep knowledge of news, current affairs, and industry trends.
Proven experience in television, radio, or other major news media, with a strong track record of leadership.
Exceptional customer focus, with outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
Superior communication and broadcast-writing skills, with the ability to craft and deliver impactful narratives.
In-depth understanding of media and broadcast law, ensuring content meets all legal and ethical standards.
Proficiency in ENPS, AVID/Velocity edit systems, or equivalent broadcast television software.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong working relationships across diverse teams.
Resilience and tenacity, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
