About the role We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with relevant planning qualifications to take up the position of Executive Planner within the City Planning Department.
The position contributes to the effective development, co-ordination and management of planning and infrastructure delivery projects that meet Council's Vision and Delivery Program objectives.
This position also provides guidance, both within and outside Council, that reflects Council's aspirations and goals, and responds to the issues and challenges which are important to the City.
You will be part of a planning team that values the free exchange of ideas and knowledge, collaboration, quality output and raising each other up.
Key Responsibilities: Tertiary qualification in urban / town planning or a related disciplineDemonstrated extensive experience in the formulation and implementation of strategic and land-use planning policyProven experience in effectively leading multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for examining complex and diverse planning issuesHighly developed interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated experience in stakeholder and community engagement, including the fostering and maintaining of relationships with a diverse range of stakeholdersStrong analytical, project management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targetsCurrent Class C driver's licencePrevious experience in a local government environmentPost graduate qualifications in urban planning / town planning or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience in the preparation of contributions plans and negotiation of voluntary planning agreementsSalary: A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
