Details: The Digital, Data and Technology Solutions Group (DDTS) is responsible for driving the ACT's digital agenda and leading the whole of government strategic direction for ICT, along with technical, tactical and transactional support for whole of government ICT. The Group developed the ACT Digital Strategy, where ACT Government has articulated its intent to support a more connected Canberra, taking advantage of advances in technology and data to make life better for Canberrans and the businesses that employ them. The Strategy challenges government to innovate, make the most of opportunities arising from the evolution of technology, and further improve the quality of life for all Canberrans.
The Executive Officer to the ACT Government's Chief Digital Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of DDTS. The role involves a significant level of autonomy as you actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships. We're looking for someone with exceptional judgement, a high level of experience and knowledge of working in government, communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
You will need to be an experienced coordinator and an administration professional who has a 'can do' attitude, you will be a self-starter, a tech-savvy 'life organiser' adept at working with limited direction. You will be resilient, comfortable with change with a flexible attitude and the ability to be across multiple tasks. Key responsibilities will include:

Providing high level assistance, support and advice to the Chief Digital Officer, ensuring they are prepared for what is scheduled and all those things that are not.
Coordinating, developing and processing briefing notes, executive correspondence and ministerial requests in line with government's approval protocols and timeframe targets.
Ensuring the Chief Digital Officer and Ministers are well prepared for participation in various national forums.
Coordinating the reporting of sensitive and confidential information.
Establishing and maintaining productive and effective working relationships both within and external to government.
Providing overall leadership to a team of EA's across DDTS to ensure work is flowed and cleared within required timeframes.
Demonstrating professionalism and being an enthusiastic contributor to DDTS' culture.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that operates at a whole of government level and also be involved in initiatives at a national level. The remit of DDTS is extremely broad – you will learn everything from how ICT is used to keep the work of government running smoothly to how being involved in policy development early can provide better outcomes for all. The work will at times be intense, with many competing priorities and deadlines, but so will the rewards of seeing transformational change happen in the way we develop and deliver services both internally to government and to the Canberra community.
The ACT Public Service supports workforce diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. As part of this commitment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally diverse people and those who identify as LGBTIQ are encouraged to apply.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
How to Apply: Please provide: your curriculum vitae. a two-page response to the 'Professional/Technical Skills and Knowledge', and 'Behavioural Capabilities' included in the Position Description; and the names and contact details of two referees.
