The University's Governance Office (UGO) is in an exciting period of development, striving to deliver a contemporary and integrated service offering aligned with the University's strategic objectives. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Executive Manager, University Governance to provide strategic and professional governance advice and high-level support to the Chief Governance Officer and other senior University Officers.
This is a unique opportunity to deploy your executive management skills, in the capacity of Deputy Secretary to Senate, Secretary to University Executive and Secretary to Academic Board. Leading a team of governance specialists and governance officers, you will share your subject matter expertise and model best practice governance services across the broader University community.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide governance advice and support to the Senate, University Executive, Academic Board and their committees. Provide operational and administrative management for the University Governance Office. Ensure robust governance practices and standards within the University, in consultation with the Chief Governance Officer. Coordinate all elements of governance processes for the UGO, Senate and committees, and supervise the staff undertaking this work as required. Ensure compliance in annual reporting and due diligence in governance activities, reportable across both internal and external audiences. About you
Extensive experience in the management of governance activities and frameworks within a complex and multifaceted organisation in either the higher education industry or public sector. Highly developed influencing skills, and the ability to bring together different areas of the University, to effectively manage complexities. Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans designed to meet the key information requirements and needs of internal and external stakeholders. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to operate with a high degree of tact and professionalism across all levels of diverse internal and external environments. Proven track record in the successful leadership and management of a high performing team of governance professionals.
