The Executive Manager Corporate Services will strategically enhance governance and resource management within Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ), leading improvements in forensic services and corporate support while advising senior leadership on key trends and issues.
Please note that Forensic Science Queensland has recently been through a Machinery of Government change, and as of 1 July 2024, was administratively assigned to the Department of Justice. The Executive Manager Corporate Services will provide strategic leadership for FSQ's corporate governance, financial management, and resource functions. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating systems, processes, and strategies to enhance governance frameworks and drive continuous improvement.
Working closely with senior leadership, including the Deputy Director, Forensic Operations and the Director of Forensic Science Queensland, you will offer expert advice on complex financial, workforce, and governance issues and ensure alignment with FSQ's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of corporate governance strategies, ensuring they align with FSQ's strategic goals and objectives.Provide expert strategic advice and solutions on complex financial, workforce, and governance issues to senior executives, including the Deputy Director, Forensic Operations and the Director of Forensic Science Queensland.Direct the Corporate Governance and Support team, driving performance and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.Lead business improvement initiatives, including reviews of financial management systems, governance frameworks, and administrative processes to ensure they meet both business needs and compliance standards.Advise on the integration of contemporary corporate services strategies, including changes to finance, IT, administration, and governance functions.Establish and maintain strong strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government departments, ministerial staff, and other key agencies.Ensure high-quality service delivery by managing the coordination and implementation of projects, and providing regular reports on key performance indicators.Actively contribute to the ongoing transformation and performance improvement of FSQ's operations, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.Oversee the management of sensitive and complex issues, providing timely, evidence-based advice to inform executive decision-making.To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in leading corporate governance functions, providing strategic advice at a senior level, and navigating complex, multidisciplinary environments. Your strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills will be crucial in driving performance and fostering innovation.
You will have a deep understanding of business and corporate services strategies, financial management, and governance frameworks, as well as the ability to manage projects and teams effectively. Qualifications in business, human resources, finance, law, or a related field would be highly regarded, though not mandatory.
