Executive Level 2 - Director - Medical Services Advisory Committee Evaluation SectionThe Director, MSAC Evaluation Section, will be responsible for managing a team and its work as it relates to the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of technologies and services for listing on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and other funding programs. The successful candidate will be experienced in leading highly technical officers, overseeing preparation of complex written material to support decision making, as well as understanding the health policy context. The successful candidate will engage effectively with policy areas, consumers, industry and HTA committees and other bodies and lead change processes, while supporting the development of team capabilities and associated processes.
Manage and lead a technical team to undertake a range of HTA activities and oversee assessment of health services and technologies.Oversee timely preparation of complex written material including reports, committee minutes, briefs and correspondence.Advise committees, the Departmental Executive and the Minister on a range of policy, program, legislative and strategic HTA matters, supported by comprehensive research and analysis.Collaborate on the development, implementation and administration of HTA policy research and analysis.Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to EL1 managers and their staff, building commitment within a team towards corporate objectives.Ensure optimum team performance and productivity to achieve outcomes.Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including applicants, consumers, consultants, subject matter experts and national research bodies) to resolve complex issues and promote strategic relationships.Lead reform initiatives to advisory body policy, methods, and processes.Lead corporate management, planning, implementation and reporting processes.Represent the Department in meetings, working groups and national and international forums regarding HTA processes, methods and policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
