Executive Director, Policy, and Advocacy and Regulatory Services

The organisationDietitians Australia is the leading voice in nutrition and dietetics in Australia,representing more than 8,500 members in Australia and overseas. They help build healthier communities by communicating credible and timely nutrition messages to the public. Through their advocacy, they campaign for healthy food systems that are accessible for Australians. They also work to foster world-class research to support evidence-based practice.

The positionAs the Executive Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Regulatory Services, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies that support Dietitians Australia's mission. You'll play a key role in shaping national and state-level policies, advocating for reforms that elevate the dietetics profession and improve public health outcomes.

This role involves building strong partnerships with government, industry, and academic stakeholders while overseeing regulatory compliance and accreditation processes. Leading a high-performing team, you will ensure the policy, advocacy, and regulatory services portfolios align with and deliver on the organisation's strategic objectives.

About youTo be successful in this role you must demonstrate:Proven leadership experience within the public sector or highly regulated environments, ideally in health or allied sectors.A strong understanding of the health system and the nutrition and dietetics landscape in Australia, including key regulatory issues.Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government, industry, and community leaders.High-level strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a track record of influencing public policy and regulatory frameworks.Relevant tertiary qualifications in nutrition and dietetics, with full membership and APD status with Dietitians Australia.Strong leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to inspire teams and drive collaborative outcomes.Dietitians Australia is committed to a workplace culture that is respectful and inclusive, valuing the diverse perspectives that their people bring from their homes and communities.
