About The Table
The Table's mission is to build a healthier, more connected community by improving access to healthy food, enhancing food skills and literacy, and advocating for well-being and social policies addressing food insecurity and poverty. Serving the communities of Perth and Smiths Falls, our team of 11 staff and many volunteers provides vital programs and services. As a social justice organization, we are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and aim to empower marginalized groups while fostering a welcoming space for all.
Position Overview
The Executive Director leads the overall strategic, financial, and operational aspects of the organization, embedding equity in every facet of its work. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social justice, particularly related to food insecurity and systemic inequality. They will also possess the financial and managerial skills necessary to guide the organization through this period of transition and beyond.
The Executive Director will collaborate with the Board, staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance The Table's mission. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, financial oversight, program management, human resources, fundraising, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary guidance focused on the mission through an equity and social justice lens.Collaboration with the Board: Partner with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans.Financial Oversight: Manage the budget and financial operations, ensuring sustainability.Program Delivery: Oversee program development and ensure alignment with community needs.Human Resources: Lead, support, and develop staff, fostering an inclusive workplace.Fundraising & Grants: Secure diverse funding streams, including grants, donations, and partnerships.Community Engagement: Serve as a spokesperson, strengthening relationships with participants, donors, and community partners.Risk Management: Identify and manage organizational risks.Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience in social work, business, public policy, or related fields.5+ years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector, emphasizing social justice and equity.Proven financial management skills, including budgeting and reporting.Strong HR management skills, with experience leading staff and volunteers.Experience in facilities management and project oversight.Deep understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles.Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and partnership development.Ability to foster a cooperative and supportive team environment.Additional Assets (not required)
– Experience in rural communities, with an understanding of social equities from a rural perspective.
– Knowledge of food insecurity issues and experience using food as a tool for community empowerment.
Salary & Benefits
The Table offers a competitive salary of $75,000 to $85,000, based on experience, along with a comprehensive health plan and four weeks of paid vacation annually. We are committed to supporting work-life balance in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
