Reporting directly to the newly appointed CEO, the Executive Director City Futures will lead the Council to achieve significant investment, economic growth and ensure excellence in planning and infrastructure for the municipality. Leading a significant portfolio including Strategic and Environmental Planning, Building Services and Public Health as well as Engineering and Infrastructure Activities, Major Projects, Business Revitalisation, Economic Development, and Business Networking, this role will be dedicated to fostering a clear focus on building partnerships both within and outside the organisation to develop and realise the Council's long-term goals and objectives.
As home to the strongest manufacturing hub in Victoria, this council is already home to businesses at the forefront of several groundbreaking projects, both in progress and up and coming, some of which include electric vehicles, robotics, AI, and hydrogen infrastructure, which are key to the uplift of clean manufacturing in Australia. Greater Dandenong is also a leading council in climate change and sustainability planning and strategy. In this pivotal role, you'll be steering crucial initiatives in collaboration with prominent, state, national and international stakeholders in building on this council's strengths in those areas.

You will bring proven experience leading transformation projects, uplifting technical capability and embedding sector-leading practices. You have a proven track record leading and empowering multi-disciplinary staff, fostering a positive and motivated workplace culture, and building high-performing teams who take initiative, who are held in high regard across the organisation and who are excited to work under and be guided by your leadership. With a background in engineering, planning, investment, or infrastructure, you demonstrate a track record of successfully developing and delivering significant programs and projects and working across complex stakeholder landscapes.
