About the Ngaanyatjarra Council
Welcome to Ngaanyatjarra Lands, a vibrant tapestry of culture and community nestled within the vast beauty of the Australian desert. Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.
Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.
Our Vision:
Representing the aspirations and interests of our diverse communities, we are dedicated to keeping Yarnangu strong on Country.
The Opportunity:
As the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the NG Council Group, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the CEO's office. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-level, comprehensive support to the CEO, enabling them to focus on strategic decision-making and the broader objectives of the organisation.
You will act as a central point of contact between the CEO, the Executive Team, leadership group, and key external stakeholders. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, handle complex tasks, and maintain confidentiality will be critical to the success of the role.
In addition to traditional EA responsibilities such as calendar and travel management, you will be involved in coordinating organisational development programmes, supporting the preparation of board reports and presentations, and overseeing the logistics of key meetings and events. Your organisational skills will be essential in helping the leadership team stay aligned and on track with strategic objectives.
The role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, shape the operational effectiveness of the organisation, and be a vital part of an ambitious, forward-thinking team. Flexibility will be important, as the nature of the role may require occasional out-of-hours work and travel.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a strong background in executive support, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your organisational expertise and make a tangible impact at the highest level.
About You: You are a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable professional with a strong background in providing executive-level support. Your exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple priorities ensure that you consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
You thrive under pressure and are known for your ability to anticipate the needs of senior leaders, managing complex schedules, travel arrangements, and high-volume communications with ease. You possess advanced communication skills and are comfortable interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, from board members and leadership teams to external partners and clients.
Your technical expertise is second to none, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and you are tech-savvy in managing platforms like Adapt to coordinate strategic objectives and support leadership initiatives.
You approach your work with professionalism, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality, understanding the importance of maintaining a seamless and efficient workflow for senior leaders. You are a team player with a positive attitude, and you're willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of the CEO and the broader organisation.
Most importantly, you are adaptable and flexible, willing to take on challenges as they arise, whether it's managing irregular hours, coordinating travel, or handling last-minute requests. If you are someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-impact role and enjoys being an integral part of a team's success, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
