Join a Dynamic Team in an Exciting Work Environment This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager.

This is a Permanent Full Time role working Wednesday - Saturday.

The position will be based primarily at Robina; however, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure an outstanding customer experience by: Preparing, distributing and monitoring front of hours rosters.

Managing the restaurant bookings and customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.

Liaising with key stakeholders to deliver the client requirements at the restaurant and for each event, ensuring function rooms and the restaurant are set up to a high standard in line with customer requirements.

Liaising with the service, kitchen and event staff to ensure that all details regarding reservations and special events are communicated appropriately.

Conducting pre-shift, pre-service and/or pre-event briefings with all relevant staff.

Liaising with TAFE Queensland staff to arrange internal catering for events as required.

Work with the Director of Faculty to ensure that the outlets provide a seamless student experience, providing high quality learning outcomes whilst maintaining commercial viability and an excellent customer experience.
Personal commitment to sustainability and minimising our impact on the planet by actively promoting our point of difference with quality, locally sourced produce, reducing packaging and food wastage and following recycling practices throughout the campus.
Liaise with the Food and Beverage Manager regarding labour hire, staffing issues and other requirements as necessary.
Supervise staff (which will include students) on each shift for the restaurant and the event space ensuring that uniform and grooming standards are adhered to.
Provide guidance to hospitality students in the use of the Point of Sale system and how equipment is used in the front of house.
Provide orientation and ongoing coaching to front of house staff and students at the rooftop restaurant and event space.
Manage the Point of Sale system daily, reporting sales and balancing the till.
Maintain accurate records and report to the Food and Beverage Manager in relation to restaurant and event activities including reservations, feedback, staffing issues and daily sales.
Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Demonstrated experience in managing restaurants / event spaces, in particular demonstrate excellent Maître De skills and knowledge of Australian and local wines.
Demonstrated experience in managing front of house teams.
Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external relationships and working collaboratively including the ability to work proactively and positively with back of house staff and students.
Experience in managing Point of Sale systems and in coaching others on how to use them.
High level communication, coaching and customer service skills.
