We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to lead the Place Activation and Events Team.
The Place Activation and Events Leader plays a critical role in leading a team that is focussed on creating places that people love to be! Places that are interesting, vibrant and connected, and deliver social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits and that opportunities to participate in place activation and arts and cultural activities are accessible to all PAE residents. This is achieved through leading a diverse and specialised team that delivers:
Place Activation through a variety of major, medium and small-scale events and public art outcomes A creative arts ecology that enhances the rich cultural heritage of our city Community capacity building through the city's funding and partnerships programs Key responsibilities of the position include: Provide leadership, direction and oversight to the Place Activation and Events Team, responsible for the delivery of Council's major events and activation program, arts and cultural outcomes and community funding program Design, lead and oversee the development, implementation and review of Council's place activation principles and arts and culture strategies Oversee the effective and efficient management of Council's Community Funding Program Build strong relationships with artists, community groups, peak bodies, professional associations, property owners, businesses, government, education and other stakeholders Work some out of hours, evenings, and weekends to support events and activations. The successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualification or commensurate experience in a field relevant to place activation, arts and culture, or event management Comprehensive knowledge of placemaking and place activation principles and practices Comprehensive knowledge and experience in best practice major public event management and planning Knowledge of arts and cultural development with an understanding of its contribution to connection to creativity and place. This is a Level 7 position which has a current salary range of $124,098 - $131,904 per annum (plus Superannuation).
