Capital Football is the governing body for football in the ACT, responsible for overseeing competitions, representative teams, and the growth of the sport across the region. Additionally, Capital Football manages Canberra United, the only women's A-League club not affiliated with a professional men's team.
We are looking for an experienced and talented Events & Sponsorship Manager to join us for an immediate start. You'll be joining a structured, friendly, and supportive team that prioritizes collaboration and personal development. Our offices are located in Deakin, Canberra.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Events and Sponsorship Manager is a key role within Capital Football, responsible for managing and developing Capital Football's events and sponsorship programs. The role collaborates closely across the organisation and with external stakeholders including local businesses, vendors, and government agencies. Leading a small team, this hands-on role coordinates end-to-end event management of a wide range of events from small scale indoor to large outdoor events.
This role will also focus on acquiring, retaining, and building on existing successful relationships that provide financial support, brand exposure, or other benefits to Capital Football.
ABOUT YOU You hold, or be able to gain, an ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.You have had at least two years' experience in event planning and execution, in particular end-to-end management of events.You will have a proven track record of leading and motivating a small team to deliver exceptional results.You possess strong networking skills with proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.You are an excellent communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to negotiate and influence.You can work under pressure with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.You are able to work flexible hours, including after hours and weekends.Tertiary qualifications in event management or similar are desirable.TO APPLY Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are the ideal candidate for this role by 7.00am Monday 28 October 2024.
