About the role
This role is pivotal in providing direction and support to event organisers through the processing of event applications and issuance of event permits. As a regulatory position, the primary focus is on ensuring the safe and successful execution of events within the community.

Process event and film applications promptly, issuing permits efficiently. Foster and sustain robust relationships with event organisers, emergency services, internal stakeholders, and specialised agencies to facilitate successful event execution. Offer events management advice and guidance to event organisers. Provide on-site event support as directed, ensuring seamless event operations. Inform event organisers of promotional opportunities through Events Geelong, encouraging their utilisation. Undertake designated tasks related to City-supported activities and managed events. Collaborate with event organisers to draft and implement stakeholder communication plans, as necessary. Promote and implement effective risk management practices and procedures. Participate in monthly Event Multi-Agency Working Group meetings. Prepare reports and correspondence according to Unit requirements. About you
To be successful in in this role you will have demonstrated experience relevant to event management and/or conducting a regulatory role issuing permits, and the following.
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices and risk management principles in public spaces. Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on prioritisation. Problem-solving skills with the capability to escalate issues when necessary. Capacity to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing business needs. Willingness to embrace continuous improvement and regulatory changes. Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends and evenings. Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
