The Opportunity Located in Ormiston, Cleveland Gardens Retirement Living is a large retirement living community, home to 200+ independent living and assisted living units filled with gardens, croquet lawns, a bowling green and much more! We have a rare opportunity for a passionate, creative and energised Events & Activities Coordinator to join our team and coordinate events, activities, functions and services for residents. In this fantastic community, you will motivate, engage and enable residents to participate in a wide range of experiences including physical, social and community-oriented activities every day. This is a highly rewarding role where you will enjoy creating a culture of vibrancy within our Cleveland Gardens community. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday-Friday.
What we offer: $34.04 + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances + superannuationEmployee Referral Program and Employee Assistance ProgramDiscounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providersOpportunities for further career progressionBe part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living communityOpportunity to take part in Aveo Learning & Development courses to develop your professional skillsYou will Coordinate and deliver fun, inclusive and exciting events to our residents on a regular schedule (think - lunch outings, music classes, external entertainers, bingo and more!)Deliver a holistic activities program that promotes independence, learning new hobbies and enabling social connections with other residentsCollaborate and engage with key stakeholders such as our Resident Committee, local businesses, schools, childcare centres and Aveo staff to deliver programs that build participationCreate schedules for all new events and distribute monthly newsletters highlighting upcoming eventsBe the welcoming face to all new residents in the community by ensuring they are engaged and supported in their transition to our community.Complete general ad-hoc duties including (but not limited to): conducting feedback surveys, attending staff meetings, participating in events and general administrative tasksWhat you will bring A genuine interest in improving the lives of seniorsPrevious experience in coordinating programs, events or activities with a resident-centred approach (desired, but not essential)Be creative - we want someone to create FUN events!Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (desired, but not essential)Two COVID-19 Vaccinations and First Aid & CPR Certificate (required or willing to obtain prior to commencement)Current Police Check clearance (required, but we can complete for you)Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
