About the Role Based at the Kewdale site and reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, the primary purpose of the Estimator – Surface Treatment is to support the accurate estimation, tracking, and reporting of project costs. The role involves interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings, understanding Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Schedules of Rates, and applying a variety of pricing tools to ensure precise Blast & Paint and Galvanizing estimations. This position plays a key part in managing the financial aspects of major projects, providing timely and detailed reports to support decision-making. The duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to:
Read and understand project specifications, and create Inspection & Test Plans as per customer requirements.Manage and review Bills of Materials for accurate procurement and project execution.Utilize estimating tools to develop precise project cost estimates for Blast and Paint and Galvanising.Monitor and report on project progress, providing detailed updates to management.Identify and address potential issues or variances.Work with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.Identify and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency.About You To be eligible for this opportunity, you must have a strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Schedules of Rates to ensure accurate material and cost estimations. You should be capable of tracking the progress of major projects and providing regular, detailed reports to the Manager, supporting informed decision-making. Experience in steel fabrication, blasting, painting, or galvanizing is essential, as it offers valuable insight into industry-specific processes and challenges. Additionally, familiarity with Navision or similar ERP systems is desirable, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency in project management and cost tracking.
