Prepare, present and deliver Defence tenders Adelaide office location, Monday – Friday Opportunity for experienced Estimator looking to step into a Senior role THE ROLE In collaboration with the Pre-Contracts Team, you will be responsible for accurate bid preparation, presentation, and follow-up of Defence sector tenders for Duratec.
Based in the Torrensville office, you will be working in and amongst the Adelaide team with direct liaison to Estimating teams nationally. This position would best suit an experienced Estimator with a construction and refurbishment background as well as someone who is looking to take a step toward a Senior role. You will also be responsible for:
Calculation and preparation of quantities Preparation of RFQs to send out to subcontractors Review and assess tender documents received Attend industry briefings as necessary Providing accurate cost and drafting estimates Collecting and following up on quotes from suppliers Maintain and produce accurate project records and reports Conduct commercial, risk and profitability reviews Complete tender schedules and documentation as required Communicate tender outcomes to all involved Assist in responding to clarifications or additional information requests Detailed tender handover with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery Liaise positively with internal and external stakeholders Grow subcontractor and supplier base ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent Previous experience Estimating in Defence works is highly desirable Ability to carry out detailed and accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and professionalism A strong financial and commercial acumen Ability to identify new project opportunities and ensure a high success rate of team bids High level attention to detail with the ability to work to set timeframes Computer literacy and the capacity to use current PC based software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and communications THE BENEFITS Ongoing rewards & recognition programs Opportunity for Senior position Access to everyday discounts from Australia's leading retailers with Flare Paid parental leave Employee referral programs up to $2000 Salary sacrifice options Employee Assistance Program Novated lease options First Aid and Mental First Aid Support Officers Submit your resume today and start a conversation with one of our recruiters.
