Reporting to: General Manager Ralmax Contracting has an exciting and immediate opening for an Estimator in Victoria. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and submission of all tender applications and project estimates. The Estimator will report to the General Manager. What we offer: Competitive payComprehensive benefits packageUse of company assets including vehicle w/ fuel, cellphone, computer, and tabletProfessional development, training, and advancementEducational training and paid course workResponsibilities: Reviewing civil construction tenders and providing a bid summary to the General Manager for go/no go analysisLeading the pre-construction process including bid documents, bonding and insurance, cost estimates, and pre-qualification proposalsReviewing project specifics with Superintendent and determining production ratesLocating/Determining opportunities to set us apart from the competitionAttending pre-tender meetings and liaising with owners, engineers, and sub-contractorsObtaining quotes from sub-contractors as well as required sub-contractor documentation for analysis of choosing the best contractor Assisting with estimates for ongoing projects including change orders and additional work Education and Experience: 5+ years of experience in Civil Contracting as an EstimatorMust be familiar with industry jargon, specifications, materials, and the ability to read and understand engineering drawingsMust be familiar with production rates, heavy equipment, and the general work process for civil excavation, earthworks, underground utilities, and roadworksPrior experience with estimating software including BlueBeam and Sharpesoft or similar is requiredBachelor of Engineering, Certificate in Engineering Technologies, or equivalent, an asset CCA Gold Seal, an assetGeneral Skills: Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracyHigh level of integrity, confidentially, and accountabilityStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeProven positive interpersonal skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsGood knowledge of MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project Requirements: Must have a current and valid class 5 driver's licenseTravel to off-site locations is requiredWork both indoors and outdoorsMust be eligible to work in CanadaApplication Process: If you have any questions regarding this position or applying for the position, please reach out and email us at: ******.
