Stability & Opportunity: Join a stable, privately owned Perth-based company where you'll work on diverse, engaging projects that enrich your skills in a positive environment.Supportive & Respectful Culture: Be valued as an individual in an environment free from politics and toxicity at our Head Office in Applecross, Perth, or on-site.Empowered Leadership: Our teams are led by skilled, responsive, supportive managers and leaders who value your insights and experience.Our Position Summary: Based at our head offices in Applecross, our Estimators assist with the preparation and submission of tenders, which includes the preparation of RFQs, initial design development & coordination, administration of tender correspondence with the client, subcontractors and suppliers, measurement of quantities (when required), first principles estimation (where applicable) of project costs, comparison of subcontractors and suppliers' quotation, compiling tender costs and other tender deliverables.
Your Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the identification of future business opportunities.Document and facilitate subcontractor and supplier tender documents and distribution lists, including tender addendums or clarification notices.Provide measurement of quantities in line with the Company's contracting strategy.Attend site visits.Provide analysis of quotations and pricing of works from first principles.Perform coding of all estimates per the Company's budget category breakdown schedules.Assist with the compilation of tender construction programmes.Development of technical and commercial clarificationsComplete all required information for the compilation of tender submissions.Manage the compilation of tender submissions.Respond to client queries post-tender submission and maintenance of post-tender.Recast the estimate at award for the purpose of establishment of project budgets.Establish and maintain historical costs for the purpose of preparing budgets.Assist with negotiation and award of subcontracts, supply agreements and purchase orders.Manage and facilitate the development of the preliminary design documentation process in relation to tenders for design-and-construct projects to achieve the required outcomes.Review design drawings to ensure compliance.Assist the project team with pricing variations.Perform other organisational duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.Take responsibility for your own safety, uphold the Company OHS&E policies and participate in Company OHS&E initiatives.About you: Prior Estimating experience in a Commercial/Industrial Building, NPI, SMP or Bulk Storage environment.You seek a new environment where you can work collaboratively with a skilled Estimating Manager and great Estimating team and be ably supported by Project Managers, Engineers, Contracts Administrators, WHSE, QA & HR teams throughout the tendering process.Be seeking work on high-value quality projects with solid/repeat clientele.Enjoy working with a loyal sub-contractor base, some of whom have worked with us for 40+ years.You will ideally have experience in a similar environment but actively seek the next step in your career & personal development.Ideally, you will have a Quantity Surveying or Construction Management background.You are a team player who enjoys working closely with your team in the office.Have a can-do approach who doesn't want to play politics, has a keen sense of humour and welcomes new opportunities within a great team environment.At Kerman, we empower our team members to innovate and implement new ideas and improvements.
