The Role The Estimating Manager (Transmission) is responsible for leading and providing estimating expertise across the Utilities business to ensure we foster competitive winning edge on new work to establish cost-effective estimates which meets agreed contractual arrangements and Client's scope.
Your Team will be responsible for building estimates across a wide range of tenders, utilising UGL's estimating software, CATS.
The role can be based in either Sydney or Brisbane and you will be required to manage a team of Transmission Line estimators across multiple states.
Key responsibilities of this role include: Provide support to the group by monitoring workload and progress to ensure the most effective use of resources and assessing resourcing needs to meet business objectives. Consult with operational departments to establish requirements and detail the accuracy of tender pricing. Attend pre-award and post tender meetings with the wider Pre-Contracts Team responding to any queries or understanding requirements.
The role will need to be available for Client liaison and queries. Develop and implement Standard estimating guidelines and tendering processes across the Utilities Business aligning with the Corporate Governance requirements. Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members. Establish clear communication, solid lines of control and actively create and maintain a culture of openness, responsiveness, honesty, ethics and responsibility across the team. About You Quantity Surveying or Engineering Degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 years' experience in an engineering and construction environment with an emphasis on Transmission Line projects. Estimating from first principles, with a self-performing and contracting deliverable environment. Experience with estimating software necessary with a background in Expert Estimation, CCS or CATS desirable. Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships and sound communication skills.
