Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Estimating Manager / Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction estimating, exceptional analytical skills, and a strong understanding of the industry. You will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates and collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, as well as working closely and collaboratively with the Estimating team.
Key Responsibilities: Once a tender has been assigned, assess the type of tender, client, and closing date of tender to determine prioritisation of all tenders.Review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are all present & correct.Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc.Conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.Calculate and prepare quantities.Source subcontractors and suppliers capable of complying with the tender.Compile quotation requests and associated documents.Once tender is completed incorporate all relevant details, review with CEO, and obtain approval prior to submission.Liaise with client on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tender.Compile relevant tender information into tender bid and build all rates and costs required.Make tender amendments where applicable.Prepare subcontractor and supplier tender list.Manage and keep updated the Master Subcontractor and Supplier List.Answer queries and assist subcontractor/supplier in preparing their tender bids.Thoroughly read all tender documentation to ensure all information has been considered.Prepare pre-tender schedules to ensure project can be delivered in estimated time frames.Business Development: Consistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry.Network and develop professional relationships with Clients, Architects and Government agencies.Review and develop estimating systems and procedures.Review & implement improvements to the business procurement methods.Supervise and lead estimating team members.Train and develop junior, graduate or work experience students when needed.Work with the CEO/Directors on proposals, submissions or as otherwise required to better position the Company for future opportunities.Requirements: Minimum of 10 years senior estimating experience in building construction.Knowledge of Work Health and Safety Act.Knowledge of all procurement systems and models.Experience and ability to understand the BCA.Experience and ability to understand statutory and regulatory requirements.Ability to schedule and cash flow forecast.Fluent at understanding construction plans / drawings and specifications.High level negotiating and analytical skills.Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook, Procore highly advantageous.Proficient in tendering software and adapt to new technologies as they are identified & implemented - Bluebeam, EstimateOne.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to adapt to the various procurement strategies required by the CEO.Excellent organisational skills.What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package.A supportive and inclusive work environment.How to Apply: If you are a motivated professional ready to take your career to the next level, we want to hear from you!
