THE OPPORTUNITY The Estates and Relationship Specialist is a key member of the Gift in Wills team and responsible for all communication with key stakeholders including solicitors, executors and family members. The role manages legal and administrative complexities to ensure a smooth estate administration process. This role also advises the public and solicitors on structuring bequests in alignment with the person's wishes and The Foundation's core goals.
ABOUT YOU You are an experienced estate specialist, or a clerk, legal aid, or legal secretary seeking a lateral move into the fundraising sector. Your people-focused approach enables you to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You are a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who possess strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to engage compassionately with individuals who have recently lost a loved one.
With excellent organizational and time-management abilities, you thrive under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines without compromising quality. Your innovative and analytical mindset empowers you to interpret data effectively, and you bring strong experience in database management, ideally with exposure to a CRM or similar system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sound understanding of the various state and territory estate laws to ensure efficient and effective communication and process around the estate administration and complex estate matters.Professional liaison with executors and solicitors to build positive relationships and ensure timely distribution of gifts through efficient co-ordination and administration of estates.Timely reporting, and identifying when to flag any arising or potential risks and issues.Working with donors, members of the general public and solicitors to structure bequests that are aligned with The Foundations' strategic goals, providing relevant information and if required, guiding them through the process of leaving a gift in their Will to The Foundation.Assist with the transfer of bequeathed shares.Overseeing the archiving process of estate records with the assistance of volunteers in line with the Foundation's policy.Maintain accurate and detailed records of communications around the progress of the administration of estates as well as donor and their preferences on the donor database as well as communication.How we recognise your contribution Through our internal programs and employee benefits we aim to create an environment where you will feel supported and empowered.
