About the Alannah & Madeline Foundation The Alannah & Madeline Foundation was set up in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged six and three, who were tragically killed with their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur, Tasmania, on 28 April 1996. The Foundation works to help children recover and protect them from bullying and violence, delivering evidence-based programs and advocating for systemic change to build a supportive and safe society.
Position in context The eSmart Learning Content Designer will assist in designing visually engaging learning materials and assets for various digital platforms. This includes designing new learning resources and improving existing resources based on user feedback. The Designer will collaborate closely with Senior Advisor Learning Design, instructional designers, developers, and subject matter experts to create educational content that is informative, accessible, and visually compelling.
Major job responsibilities Create visual assets and layouts for learning content across multiple platforms, including PDF documents, PowerPoint presentations, web-based content, and eLearning modules.Design and develop interactive visual elements using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Procreate for digital and print educational materials.Design and edit PowerPoint presentations for training and instructional purposes, ensuring a clean, professional, and visually appealing design.Manage and organise design assets for Learning Management System (LMS) content, ensuring alignment with course structure and learning objectives.Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all visual design, adhering to accessibility guidelines (such as WCAG).Collaborate with instructional designers and content experts to visually enhance learning modules, ensuring clarity and coherence between visual design and instructional goals.Maintain brand consistency across all visual learning materials, adhering to organizational branding guidelines.Test and optimise visual content across different platforms, ensuring compatibility and responsiveness.Other tasks as directed by the Senior Learning Designer and Executive Team.Contribute positively to the Foundation's culture through developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.Knowledge, experience & requirements Experience in developing eLearning content for educators and learners (school students aged 4 – 17 years) using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate (highly desirable).Proven experience creating visual learning materials for digital platforms, demonstrated through a portfolio of work.Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Procreate.Experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.Strong understanding of content management systems and/or learning management systems, and experience managing content.Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 or higher) and experience implementing accessible design in digital content.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.Highly desirable: experience with motion graphics, video editing, or animation using tools such as Adobe After Effects or similar.Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field preferred.Working with Children Check and Police Check (required). #J-18808-Ljbffr
