Start: 20 January 2025 or to be negotiated with successful applicant ABOUT THE ORGANISATION: Geraldton Flexible School is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
There are 23 Flexible Schools throughout Australia who offer a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.
Enrolled young people may express a broad range of complex education and social needs and flexible schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.
The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences supporting them to identify and pursue an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education and training and social connectedness.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Leader of Wellbeing and Practice reports to the Head of Campus and has delegated responsibility to develop and maintain the strategic wellbeing and social inclusion responses of the campus.
He/she provides operational line management and practice leadership to the youth workers and the young people of the campus, working collaboratively with Principal, site leadership team, Teachers, Youth Workers and Educational Assistants.
The Leader of Wellbeing and Practice's key role is to implement and lead the Wellbeing Framework and whole site strategic wellbeing plan.
Other responsibilities will be negotiated at the time of appointment with the Principal.
ABOUT YOU Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the youth work/ social services/ health profession is essential.
Previous experience in wellbeing programs is desirable.
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work and or related health science essential.
Experience in working with young people disenfranchised from mainstream education.
The Leader of Wellbeing and Practice is required to demonstrate leadership, involving self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in developing site-based wellbeing programs in response to student needs as well as using data to measure success of the program offerings of the school.
Working with Children Check required.
Teacher Registration if Teacher.
