Exciting opportunity to join the Equal Workplaces Advisory Council (Council) as ChairpersonThe Council is a non-statutory advisory body promoting gender pay equity in Victorian workplaces. In 2015, Victoria became the first Australian state to develop a Gender Equity Strategy. In March 2017, the Equal Workplaces Advisory Council was set up as a part of this strategy. The council consists of 12 experts from public and private sector organisations. It advises the Minister for Industrial Relations on initiatives that will tackle:the gap in women's pay.The Department of Treasury and Finance invite members of the community to nominate to become Chairperson of the Council.About the roleThe Council Chairperson will lead and assist council members in developing advice on gender pay equity in Victorian workplaces for the Minister for Industrial Relations. Members are appointed by the Minister for Industrial Relations for a term of up to three years.Who we're looking forApplicants should demonstrate skills and expertise in areas such as leadership, governance, community engagement, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.
