We provide targeted specialist expertise and also integrated solutions as multidiscipline/multi capability projects.
A significant growth area in mining is in the areas of Water, Tailings and Closure.
These areas often require targeted specialist expertise provided through our Mine Advisory business unit.
Our clients also, from time to time, require integrated solutions that bring together a number of specialist experts, engineering and other capabilities within a project environment.
These integrated solutions require direction and coordination across multiple parts of the business to be successful.
This role will direct and coordinate our water, tailings, and closure projects to ensure we provide effective and efficient integrated solutions to our key clients.
The role will report to the Director of Sustaining Capital and work with Mine Advisory, the Sustaining Capital teams and other business units to bid, resource and deliver projects for our key clients across the mining water, tailings and closure sectors.
These projects will generally be delivered out of the Sustaining Capital business unit which will provide project management, engineering and processing capabilities.
The role will require high levels of interaction and collaboration with other parts of the business, in particular Mine Advisory (Water, Tailings and Closure Specialists) and Earth and Environment (environment and geotechnical specialists) who will provide specialist services.
What you'll do: Lead and foster a good safety culture across the Mining Business Group and ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality requirements.
Foster collaboration within the Mining Business Group to ensure all teams operate as part of 'one group' in delivering client outcomes and strategic objectives.
Ensure all decisions made are aligned to 'best for business' objectives, maximising the potential for success across the group.
Build and maintain a strong culture of teamwork through trust, innovation, care, unity and passion.
Drive and champion a culture that aligns and enhances WSP's guiding principles across the Mining Business Group.
Lead and manage integrated Water, Tailings and Closure projects to achieve financial performance outcomes Lead and manage the integrated Water, Tailings and Closure projects to achieve year-on-year growth in Net Revenue.
Foster a growth-oriented, collaborative mindset across the Water, Tailings and Closure sector.
Develop strong key client relationships and foster a client-centric approach within the Water, Tailings and Closure sector.
Oversee business development activities and integrated proposals across the Water, Tailings and Closure sector and contribute directly to realisation of key strategic pursuits.
Improve our work winning strike rate and achieve an increased proportion of our work from integrated projects in the Water, Tailings and Closure sector.
To travel and to be present in all regions by communicating strategic objectives, client opportunities and operational outcomes.
Influence and engage with Future Ready concepts to ensure our Water, Tailings and Closure sector offerings and ways of working are designed for the future.
Collaborate effectively across Mining and other business groups to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges, and alignment with business imperatives.
Develop external and internal networks across business groups and regions.
Support and promote the importance of continued professional development of our people.
Contribute to the achievement of strategic initiative outcomes across the whole Mining Business Group.
Be active in representing the company through targeted industry events / organisations.
About You Extensive experience in the same or similar role Strong experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives, driving growth and enhancing value for clients and staff.
Strong consulting skills, ability to diagnose roadblocks and devise solutions early.
Proven ability in driving innovation while ensuring compliance with appropriate policies and delegations.
Strong people and stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Works well with high levels of ambiguity.
Able to navigate and lead effectively in a complex and political environment and deliver results.
Able to influence without direct authority.
Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels in client organisations and within the company.
