They will prepare and review legal policy submissions on complex issues and provide training to eSafety staff as needed. Those supporting eSafety's Investigations Branch will focus on supporting its functions and powers under the Online Safety Act. Candidates focusing on eSafety's Industry Codes and Standards will collaborate with the Compliance and Enforcement Branch responsible for implementing these schemes.The skills & capabilities you need to perform the role:Our ideal candidate(s) will have an understanding of: administrative law, merits review, contract law, privacy and FOI law, intellectual property law, statutory interpretation, co-regulation, enforcement, evidence, and criminal law. The Legal Services Branch supports the Investigations Branch, primarily in administering four complaint-based schemes to assist victims of cyberbullying, image-based abuse, and online content complaints. The Legal Services Branch also supports the Industry, Compliance, and Enforcement Branch in administering Industry Codes and Standards and the Basic Online Safety Expectations (BOSE).Current ongoing APS employees are eligible to apply for this vacancy by Expression of Interest.
