With a strong pipeline of work in Eastern Australia & across ANZ, we currently have an exciting opportunity in Melbourne for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team.
As an Environmental Scientist in the Contaminated Land Assessment and Remediation Section, you will primarily contribute to the delivery of field sampling programs, contamination assessment report writing and supporting other members of the Section with business development activities.
More specifically, this role will include the following tasks that will be performed with support from other members of the team as appropriate: Planning and execution of field sampling programs involving sampling of soils, sediments, surface water and groundwater.
Collation, analysis and interpretation of laboratory analytical results and other environmental data, including comparison against defined assessment criteria.
Preparation of contamination assessment reports with support from relevant team members, requiring research and review of technical / scientific documents.
Assist with the preparation of proposal documents and other business development activities.
Collaborating with other Sections to help deliver successful project outcomes for our clients.
Communicate capacity and actively seeks out work from colleagues.
Your experience with environmental regulation and compliance will assist in the development of environmental management programs for clients that are aligned and adaptive with changes to the regulatory process and compliance requirements within various sectors.
Here's what you'll need You'll need a tertiary qualification in either Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology but just as important will be your personal attributes.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Sciences or with extensive years of professional or consultancy experience for an equivalent qualification.
Work experience in consulting is advantageous, particularly within the field of contaminated land assessment, or having had any prior involvement in preparing technical reports writing.
An appreciation of other environmental consultancy disciplines e.g., ecology, hydrogeology, hydrology, soil science, and cultural heritage would be advantageous.
Knowledge of using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to produce maps and drawings would also be an advantage, although in-house training can be provided to help develop your skills in this area.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and familiarity with videoconferencing practices.
Strong attention to detail and an appetite to learn and develop technical skills relevant to contaminated land assessment.
