Environmental Scientist (Contaminated Land) - ( 240002CR )DescriptionAbout the roleWe currently have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Land team. Our team is experienced in planning and executing environmental site assessment and remediation projects which improve the health and wellbeing of the communities that we live in.In this role you will provide strategic and practical solutions to clients with a broad range of environmental management challenges under the guidance of an experienced Project Director. Your role will include all aspects of project management, including planning, delivery and reporting, and see you work on varied and interesting projects ranging from industrial and defence sites to greenfields and brownfields redevelopments, groundwater hydrogeology investigations, and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.The role can be based at either of our offices in Melbourne CBD, Geelong or Ballarat. As part of the valued Stantec team, we will support your professional development through on the job mentoring, in house and external training, development courses, as well as opportunities to attend industry events and conferences.Day To Day Tasks Would Involve Project management of contaminated land projects including planning and execution of fieldwork, co-ordination of internal resources, contractor management, budget management and client correspondence.Assist with the scope, design and costing of contaminated land and groundwater investigations.Provide mentoring and training to graduates and junior professionals throughout the delivery of your projects.Lead the preparation of technical reports, focused on presenting information in a clear and logical manner, supported by appropriate interpretation of technical data in accordance with relevant guidelines and legislation.Assist in undertaking fieldwork which may involve sampling of environmental media (e.g. soil, groundwater, surface water or soil vapour), undertaking hydrogeological investigations, or supervision of subcontractors conducting works such as drilling, excavation or remediation activities.To Be Successful For This Role You'll NeedDegree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry or related field.3 - 6 years' experience within the field of contaminated land assessment and/or environmental assessment and remediation.Strong analytical, reporting and verbal communication skills.A client service focus with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in team environments.Valid/ current driver's licence.What We OfferGenuine Flexible Working Arrangements - Including flexible hours, work from home opportunities, provision for school term contracts, job sharing and part time employment.Option to purchase up to 4 weeks additional leave.Learning and Talent Development Programs - Including Global programmes, online learning and on-the-job learning.Mentoring for your own development and the opportunity to mentor others.A friendly and supportive team environment, with dedicated and enthusiastic staff committed to producing high quality service and deliverables.Professional Memberships.Salary Continuance Insurance (SCI).Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs.Service Recognition Awards.Employee Assistance Program.About StantecThe Stantec community unites approximately 28,000 employees working in over 400 locations across six continents.
