The Field Officer (Bin Education and Engagement Services) role is a lifestyle opportunity offering the right candidate a full-time permanent position.
Our Rockhampton office is seeking a self-motivated Field Officer to assist in educating, engaging and influencing positive environmental behaviours.
This position will assist in achieving improved waste and sustainability outcomes for our customers and their communities throughout Australia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Visual inspections of kerbside bins prior to collection in selected areas.
Engagement and liaison with residents and the community at the kerbside / in the community when approached.
Co-operate with Supervisors/Managers to ensure that materials are processed/assessed in accordance with customer requirements.
Collection, recording, entry and checking of data.
Be involved in a range of activities which may include:
Visual inspections of waste and recycling containers.
Data recording.
Assisting others in segregation of materials and collection of samples for assessment.
Regional and local travel.
Facilitate flow of information.
Ability to prioritise and perform duties in a varied role.
Able to multi-task and demonstrate an enthusiasm and determination to perform work tasks.
Demonstrate the ability to build rapport and relationships with all stakeholders.
Be dedicated to achieving high standards of safety compliance.

ABOUT YOU
Knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of kerbside waste services – recycling, food and garden waste etc.
Willingness to engage in physical research projects including early morning walking bin inspections, and educational intervention programs.
Reasonable level of computer literacy, including an understanding of basic Excel functions.
Confidence in verbal communication skills, including customer service and face to face public engagement.
The ability to work alone and within a multi-disciplinary team.
Class C drivers licence.
Be dedicated and reliable.
An understanding of sustainability or the environmental field, with an interest in community education, behaviour change and communication.
