Environmental Consultant - Mid-Level

Details of the offer

Who we are: Streamology is a bespoke consultancy aiming to bridge the gap between waterway research and management by providing scientifically informed management consulting from catchment to coast.
We are currently looking for a mid-level environmental consultant to join our team in Melbourne.
About the role: Joining our team of environmentally focused consultants, you will work on a diverse range of projects focussed on water and the environment. You'll get involved in projects which influence the way catchments and coasts are managed to retain waterway values and positively shape our industry and our landscapes.
The position is required to support and lead teams, liaise with clients, and contribute to the delivery of projects. This position will cover a broad spectrum of projects, focussing on waterways and coasts and can involve data analysis and GIS, technical and non-technical writing and lots of learning. The projects can be across both urban and rural waterway estuary and coastal environments, and you will work with geomorphologists, planners, engineers, ecologists and strategists.
Who you are: Degree level Science or Engineering qualifications, preferably with a focus on environmental management, waterway/coastal science, or geomorphology. Ideally 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience. Time management, organisational and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable – you appreciate the diversity of work that comes with consultancy life, whilst enjoying the benefits it offers. Ability to learn quickly and grow within the role, with a desire and passion to achieve best practice outcomes. Ability to work well within a close-knit team environment. Friendly, proactive, and self-motivated. Comfortable with travel within Victoria and interstate.  To excel even further you will have: Demonstrable skills in spatial analysis and mapping. Knowledge of Melbourne Water constructed waterways and WSUD guidelines. Understanding of the consulting business model and what drives success in this space and the intricacies of the public sector and opportunities within. Experience in writing proposals and reporting  We're primarily seeking a strong cultural fit—someone who is passionate about the water environment, motivated, responsible, respectful, and a true team player. We take great pride in both the work we do and the team we're building. In return, you'll enjoy a fun, flexible work environment that you can be proud of, while also developing your technical skills and confidence to grow within the field of waterway and environmental management.
