An exciting opportunity has becomeavailable for an Environmental Assessment and ComplianceOfficer to join the Department for Energy andMining's Energy Regulation team. The successful applicantwill work along side regulatory professionals overseeing theregulation of the Petroleum, Geothermal, Gas Storage, HydrogenGeneration and large scale Renewable Energy industries under theEnergy Resources Act 2000 and soon to be enacted, Hydrogen andRenewable Energy Act 2023.
The role willundertake a wide range of environmental assessments and compliancematters, advising on approval applications as well as ensuring theongoing compliance of the upstream energy resourceindustries.
The role willrequire both intra and interstate travel and the successfulapplicant will demonstrate in-depth knowledge across key areas ofenergy resource environmental assessment and compliance management,effective communication and time management skills and the abilityto work in a team to ensure the effective regulation of a complexand dynamic industry.

Demonstrates in-depthknowledge across key areas of energy resource environmentalassessment and compliance management, including knowledge ofthe issues facing 'industry', of industrymovements, and significant developments andaffiliations. Experience in logicallyevaluating a range of environmental impact assessmentdocumentation, data and information, identifying salient issuesand drawing sound conclusions. Experience in planning,coordinating and undertaking strategic field audits to assesscompliance related activities. Experience in developingand maintaining productive working relationships with peers,staff and stakeholders through initiating contact, buildingrapport, understanding needs and delivering toexpectations. Qualifications: A degreein a scientific or engineering discipline relevant toenvironmental management. Someregulatory/industry experience relevant to environmentalmanagement is highly desirable. Remuneration:
Classification PO2, $86,950 - $96,223 per annum
Full-time role,working 37.5 hours per week
SpecialConditions:
