The Environmental Advisor will ensure compliance with environmental legislation and promote best practices in environmental management across the company's national operations.

The company specializes in remedial projects and is active across various sectors, including oil & gas, defence, infrastructure, and rail. They are seeking a driven and passionate Environmental Advisor to join their HSEQ team and take ownership of environmental responsibilities.
You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements, promote sustainability initiatives, and help deliver projects that make a real difference. There will be some travel to assist other states.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement environmental management plans and strategies.Lead environmental initiatives and collaborate with other teams across the organisation to ensure alignment and consistency of environmental practices, messaging, and standards.Develop and foster relationships with external stakeholders including Client environmental stakeholders.Work closely with pre-contracts teams to integrate environmental management measures into tender submissions and project planning activities.Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), to support national-level tender submissions.Develop detailed environmental documentation, such as CEMPs and necessary approvals, during the project award phase for nationwide projects.Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, permits, and regulations.Conduct environmental audits, assessments, and site visits to mitigate risks.Promote sustainability across the business.Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant functional discipline (Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, Sustainability).3–5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the construction or remediation sectors.Strong knowledge of environmental statutory requirements and sustainability practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Previous experience with the implementation of an electronic HSE event management/Health Surveillance system.Proactive, collaborative, and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
