At JJ's Waste & Recycling, being a Principal Environment Advisor is about more than just compliance.

You will get the opportunity to work within an exciting and diverse range of operations nationally, including waste collection, transport, hazardous waste aggregation and treatment, composting and soil conditioner manufacturing, land application of organic fertilisers, waste disposal and material recovery facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOn a day-to-day basis, this role will involve:
Developing, updating and implementing environmental management systems to ensure compliance is maintained with legislative requirements and the conditions of our regulatory approvals.Preparing applications and negotiating conditions relevant to environmental approvals to facilitate the establishment of new or expanded facilities or to improve the efficiency of our operations.Conducting regular site reviews to monitor the Company's compliance with legislative requirements and build the knowledge and capability of our operational teams.Preparing responses to regulatory notices and external audits.Investigating and advising on any responses to environmental incidents.Developing corporate communications relating to changes in laws, government policy or processes.Ensuring the business upholds and maintains our core values of integrity, safety and quality service in our work.Travel to sites nationally, as required.YOUR EXPERIENCEOur team members come from a variety of different backgrounds, but ideally you will have some mix of the following:
A qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry or ManagementProven experience implementing and maintaining environmental compliance frameworks and systems.Minimum 7+ years' experience in a similar role within the utilities, resource recovery or waste management sector.Proven experience in the practical application of legislation, standards and codes of practice.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis.BENEFITSWe appreciate there is more to life than work, we provide a variety of work options to ensure the job gets done; with competitive remuneration and a range of benefits, regardless of your role or location including:
