The Project The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years. The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:
Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)RAAF Base WaggaThe proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
Construction of new messing and living in accommodationConstruction of new training facilitiesRefurbishment and upgrading of existing buildingsRemedial works and upgrades to infrastructure servicesThe Opportunity As an Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for onsite environmental management and will lead the development and coordination of risk review processes and Environmental Management Plans throughout the project delivery. You'll manage compliance registers and monitor regulatory requirements, provide technical advice on high-risk projects, and implement audit schedules to ensure compliance. The role will require you to engage with a range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, participating in industry associations, and sharing knowledge and best practices within the team to promote environmental sustainability. What you'll bring Hold or able to obtain a Government Security Clearance (Australian citizen is required) – must haveA tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy, Sustainability or related disciplines3-5 years' experience in construction, environmental management, regional/local government or similarExperience on Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) rated projects, and qualifications as an Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) or ability to obtain.High level of Environmental legislative knowledge (state and / or national frameworks)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated time management and organisational skillsMore than anything, you'll have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a drive to provide high quality outcomes for the Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services business unit and our clients.
